The Grand Lodge sits in the heart of the Mountain Village at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, just steps from the Silver Queen Gondola, Red Lady Express, base-area shops, and the free town shuttle. It's the most centrally located lodging on the mountain.
The East tower opened in 1993 and was joined by the West tower in 2000. In 2004, the entire building was converted from a Sheraton-managed hotel into individually owned condominiums. Today, private owners rent their units through professional management companies like Traverse Hospitality, offering guests the convenience of a hotel stay with the character and value of a private condo.
No two rooms are alike. Studios and one- to two-bedroom suites are individually decorated by their owners, blending rustic alpine character with modern comforts: free WiFi, in-room safes, kitchenettes, and access to the building's pool, hot tub, gym, and steam room.

Open round-the-clock with cardio equipment and free weights. Located inside the pool area on the first floor of the East wing.

Traverse guests get preferred access to Butte & Co for ski, snowboard, and bike rentals — delivered right to the building or picked up at their base-area shop.

Take CO Hwy 135 north from Gunnison into Mt. Crested Butte. Emmons Loop branches off Gothic Rd; parking under the wooden arch at the entrance.

How do I get to downtown Crested Butte?
Free Mountain Express shuttle stops just outside the building (Mountaineer Square stop). Buses run every 15–20 minutes in summer and frequently in winter. 2.5-mile trip.
What's the difference between the rooms?
Most units are studios (~320 sq ft) with a king bed + murphy bed, kitchenette, and bathroom. A few are true one-bedroom condos with a separate bedroom and living area. The combo suite (412 & 414) is two adjoining studios that open as a 2-bedroom for up to 8 guests — the largest configuration in the building. Several units have been recently renovated with modern finishes. Each unit is individually owned and decorated, so style varies.
