The Depot House is a Victorian-era 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home on East 7th Street in downtown Leadville, Colorado. Three queen bedrooms sleep up to six guests, and the home sits a 5-minute walk from Harrison Avenue, 2 blocks from the Mineral Belt Trail, and directly uphill from the historic Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad depot. The main floor holds a full kitchen with breakfast bar, crockpot and blender, a dining area that seats six, and a living room with gas fireplace. The upper floor holds three bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and two full bathrooms — one with a jetted soaking tub. Outdoor features: fenced yard with patio and seating, a gas grill, and a shed for ski or bike storage. Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive are visible from the kitchen to the west. Twin Lakes and Mt. Elbert trailheads are about 25 minutes south. Ski Cooper is 25 minutes north. Copper Mountain is 35-40 minutes east. Vail is 45-55 minutes east via I-70. No air conditioning — Leadville sits at 10,152 feet and nights run in the 40s-50s even in July. Pet-free home. Managed by Traverse Hospitality.

The house was great with beds for all 4 of us. It was clean, nicely furnished, had a great kitchen and the space worked well for our group. Our host, Natasha, provided all the info we needed and was super helpful. Overall our experience was 5 Stars and we will stay here again. "

This was the perfect home for our family to stay! Right across from the train station and walkable to the Main Street. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and the entire home was clean. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Leadville!

Great house in Leadville! Location is great to everything on the main drag. Comfortable beds and a good amount of space.

The hosts saved our trip when our car got a flat tire. They had someone show up and they stayed to help us swap out the tire. They went above and beyond when we had just asked for a recommendation of a service. Aside from saving our trip, the house was cute and clean, and had all we needed for our stay. Easy to get in and out. Quick access to restaurants and skiing. Would definitely stay there again, especially knowing Natasha is there to help when needed!

Leadville, Colorado, United States
The Depot House sits in the heart of downtown Leadville, Colorado, on East 7th Street — in the historic Victorian grid, at 10,152 feet elevation. Downtown Harrison Avenue is a five-minute walk, and the Mineral Belt Trail (an 11.6-mile paved loop popular for cycling, running, skate skiing, and dog walking) is accessible from a trailhead 2-3 blocks away. Walkable downtown amenities: Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen, the Silver Dollar Saloon (1883), Melanzana (made-in-Leadville fleece), the Delaware Hotel, the Tabor Opera House, and dozens of small galleries, coffee shops, and mining-history attractions. The home is named for the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad depot one block uphill, where the heritage narrow-gauge railway runs twice-daily scenic tours through the San Isabel National Forest during summer and fall. Outdoor access from the property: Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft) and Mt. Massive (14,428 ft) trailheads (~25 min south), Twin Lakes (~25 min south), Ski Cooper (~25 min north), Copper Mountain (~35-40 min east), Vail / Beaver Creek (~45-55 min east via I-70), and Independence Pass to Aspen (1.5-2 hr in summer only; pass closed November-May).
