Poplar Street 1BR is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo in downtown Leadville, Colorado, located at the corner of 8th and Poplar — one block east of Harrison Avenue, the town's historic Main Street commercial corridor. The unit (Unit C of a converted corner building) has its own private entrance, sits on a single level with no stairs, and includes a private infrared sauna inside the bedroom — a rare amenity in Leadville rentals and the unit's biggest differentiator. The bedroom is a true private room with a real door. It contains a Queen bed with a 12-inch memory-foam mattress and an infrared sauna in the corner — the sauna is yours alone for the stay, not shared with another unit. A subway-tile bathroom with a soaking tub and black fixtures sits across the hall. The kitchen runs along one wall of the great room — full-size fridge, gas range and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and full cookware. The great room includes a daybed-style couch, a two-person dining table, a sit-stand desk wired for ultra-fast WiFi, and a wall-mounted Roku TV (HBO and Netflix). Harrison Avenue is one block west — Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen, the Silver Dollar Saloon, Tennessee Pass Cafe, Melanzana fleece, the Delaware Hotel, the Tabor Opera House, and the Leadville Railroad depot are all within a 5-minute walk. The Mineral Belt Trail is about 10 minutes on foot. Ski Cooper is ~25 minutes north on US24; Copper Mountain is ~35–40 minutes east; Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads are ~25 minutes south. Vail and Beaver Creek are ~45–55 minutes via I-70. Pet-friendly — $50 pet fee, two pets maximum. On-street parking on Poplar Street; diagonal parking on 8th Street across from the building. No air conditioning — Leadville sits at 10,152 ft (the highest incorporated city in North America) and does not need it. License #004364. Managed by Traverse Hospitality.

Leadville, Colorado, United States
Leadville is a historic mining town in the Sawatch Range of central Colorado, sitting at 10,152 feet — the highest incorporated city in North America. The downtown historic district along Harrison Avenue is on the National Register of Historic Places and includes the 1879 Tabor Opera House, the Delaware Hotel, the Silver Dollar Saloon, and a dense walking corridor of restaurants, bars, breweries, coffee shops, fleece and gear stores, and the historic Leadville, Colorado & Southern Railroad depot. Poplar Street 1BR is one block east of Harrison at the 8th Street cross street — far enough off the main strip to be quiet at night, close enough to walk to every downtown business within five minutes. Periodic Brewing, City on a Hill Coffee, Treeline Kitchen, High Mountain Pies, the Silver Dollar Saloon, and Tennessee Pass Cafe are all within a 2-to-4-minute walk. Melanzana, the famous Leadville-made fleece brand, is six blocks south on Harrison. The Mineral Belt Trail, an 11.6-mile paved loop circling Leadville with historic mining interpretive signs, is about a 10-minute walk from the condo and is open to walkers, runners, bikers, and cross-country skiers depending on the season. Outdoor access from downtown: Ski Cooper (a small family ski area with no lift lines, 1,200 vertical feet, day-passes around $80) is 25 minutes north on US24. Copper Mountain Resort is 35–40 minutes east on US24 into I-70. Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft, the highest point in Colorado) and Mt. Massive (14,428 ft) trailheads are about 25 minutes southwest. Turquoise Lake is 15 minutes northwest. Twin Lakes town is 25 minutes south on US24/CO82, and is the gateway to Independence Pass (open May through October) — a 1.5-to-2-hour drive to Aspen in summer. Vail and Beaver Creek are 45–55 minutes east via I-70. Annual Leadville events draw visitors all year: the Leadville Trail 100 (run and MTB) in August, the Crashed Boot ski-joring weekend on Harrison Avenue in March (cowboys towing skiers behind horses down Main Street), and the Boom Days mining festival in early August.

The infrared sauna is the unit's standout amenity. It is a 2-person far-infrared unit located inside the bedroom, fully private to your stay. Recommended sessions are 30–45 minutes; full operating instructions are included in the digital guidebook sent the morning of arrival. Hydrate before and after each session, and ease in slowly during your first day at elevation.
This unit does not have air conditioning — Leadville sits at 10,152 feet and stays cool through the summer. Heating is in-floor and forced-air zoned for the unit.
Pet policy: Pets are welcome with a $50 pet fee, two pets maximum. Bag and tie pet waste and place it in the building's three green Waste Management bins (located on the north side of the building).
Parking is free and on-street. Use the frontage on Poplar Street directly in front of the unit, or the diagonal spaces on 8th Street across from the building. During winter, watch for posted snow-removal signs to avoid temporary no-parking enforcement and towing. As a neighbor courtesy, please do not park directly in front of the houses on East 8th Street.
Altitude awareness: Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America at 10,152 feet. Altitude sickness symptoms can include headache, dizziness, nausea, and fatigue, particularly on the first day. Hydrate aggressively, pace yourself on day one, skip alcohol the first night, and consult a doctor if you have cardiac or pulmonary conditions. We cannot offer refunds for altitude-related early departures; travel insurance is recommended if you have not been to elevation before.
Mountain wildlife notes: occasional insects or small critters are part of mountain living. We treat the unit regularly and recommend keeping exterior doors closed when possible.
Check-in is 4 PM via smart-lock; check-out is 10 AM. The smart-lock code and guidebook link are sent the morning of arrival. Managed by Traverse Hospitality.
