Overall rating
Great location! It was very close to get to downtown Crested Butte and easy to get into our space! It was also a very short drive to the nearby hikes at Gothic Mountain and Snodgrass Mountain. The amenities were great at the lodge and in our unit, it was so helpful to have the stovetop, microwave and fridge. Overall a perfect place to stay!! Chris was also very responsive with any questions we had!

This place is pretty great. You can ride from your room to multiple biking trails. Town is a mere hop and skip. You can take the shuttle. Take the walk on the path. Ride bikes. Or drive. The kitchenette is nice and convenient. All in all, exactly what you want for an awesome stay in CB!

It was a nice place, clean and the host was friendly and responsive. Shower ran cold at times and 2 out of 3 nights we were woken up by people coming and going in the hallway.

The Grand Lodge sits at 6 Emmons Road — the closest lodge to the Red Lady Express, the gateway lift that feeds Crested Butte's 1,547 acres of terrain. From the Grand Lodge: • Red Lady Express lift base — 5-minute walk • Base village shops, ski rentals, coffee, and lunch (Camp 4 Coffee, Butte 66, Christy Sports) — 2-minute walk • Historic Elk Avenue in downtown Crested Butte (dining, shops, galleries, breweries) — 8-minute complimentary shuttle from the lobby, running every 15 minutes Crested Butte is Colorado's designated Wildflower Capital; the annual Crested Butte Wildflower Festival runs in mid-July. Summer activities include lift-served mountain biking, hiking trails like Oh-Be-Joyful and Rustler Gulch, rafting on the Taylor and East rivers, and fly fishing in the Gunnison River basin. A few things to set accurate expectations: 3 Pros / 2 Cons + Closest lodge to the Red Lady Express lift — 5-minute walk to the lift base. + First-floor, side-door access makes it genuinely pet-friendly (2 dogs max; pet fee applies). + Grand Lodge resort amenities included: pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, gym.
- The King bed is positioned near the hallway entry. Light sleepers on busy weekends may want earplugs.
- Grand Lodge is an older building with individually owned units. Clean and well kept; cosmetics aren't new-build. Logistics:
• Studio layout: Separate King bedroom + living-area pullout couch. Sleeps 4 adults.
• Kitchenette (not a full kitchen): mini fridge, one-burner cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker. No oven.
• No in-unit washer/dryer. Mid-stay linen turnover available on request, 24-hour notice.
• No A/C — Mt. Crested Butte sits at 9,375 ft and rarely needs it.
