A 3-bedroom log cabin set among the lodgepole pines four miles north of Leadville, CO, with the Arkansas River below and Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive on the skyline. Sleeps 6 across a king bedroom, a queen bedroom with two queens, and an open loft with bunks. Two full bathrooms, a fireplace great room, a full kitchen for group dinners, a covered deck in the trees, and on-site laundry. Seven minutes to downtown Leadville and eleven to Ski Cooper, with Turquoise Lake, Copper, Vail and Breckenridge all within an easy drive.

This log duplex in the woods was a great place to stay in Leadville. It’s a few miles of town but a quick drive to town, lake, hiking etc. Back porch is shared with unit next store but wasn’t an issue for us. It was very quiet and peaceful. Fixtures, counters, carpets, blinds were older but clean and functional. Only two actual bedrooms with additional loft with queen bed and bunks that you have to walk through to get to second bedroom. Unfortunately we had no water for part of an evening bc of a broken pump for the entire property that we didn’t know about before we tried to do a load of wash and showers. Property manager responded quickly when we said we had no water. Other than the water issue it was a great place to stay and hopefully with repaired pump it won’t be an issue in the future.

A clean, comfortable, and peaceful place in a beautiful setting. We appreciated thr proximity to Leadville without being in the town itself. Just what we needed in order to unwind after a long day hiking.

Beautiful surroundings, in a pine forest apart from town, view of mountains, nice porch to sit on, great for a walk. Loved the setting. From the description we did not realize that it is a rental condo in a complex. There are two condos per building with a shared porch and you can hear the people on the other side. We arrived after dark so were confused as to where to park and if we were unit A or B. We used the unlock feature sent to us to determine which door lit up do we knew where to enter. Place is decent and great for a group. Big kitchen and living room, great table, laundry room . One mattress was not able to be slept on, it collapsed. You have to walk through the loft bunk and bed to get to the bathroom and other bedroom. A number of maintenance needs of things needing fixed. We reached out to the hust with a list and they were responsive and said they would address them. Decent place in a great neighborhood, just needs some love and an updated description.

The cabin sits in a quiet subdivision among the lodgepole pines four miles north of Leadville, Colorado, overlooking the Arkansas River. Leadville — North America's highest incorporated city at 10,152 feet — is a seven-minute drive, with restaurants, shops, and a historic downtown. Ski Cooper, a family-friendly resort known for natural snow, is eleven minutes away; Turquoise Lake is thirteen. Copper Mountain is about 25 minutes, the Mt. Elbert trailhead (Colorado's highest fourteener) about 30, and Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Beaver Creek are all within 30–50 minutes. In town, the Mineral Belt Trail offers snowshoeing and Nordic skiing in winter and hiking and biking in summer, and there's an ice rink and a sledding hill at Dutch Henry nearby.

No A/C — at this elevation Leadville rarely needs it; summer nights are cool and the windows open to mountain air.
Altitude is real here (up to ~10,000 ft). Drink extra water, take your first day easy, and consider travel insurance — we can't refund for altitude sickness. Symptoms can include headaches and nausea.
You're in the mountains, so the occasional insect or critter is part of the setting; keep doors closed and you'll be fine.
