The Plaza 441 is located in Mt Crested Butte, Colorado, the ski village at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The building is a 3-minute walk to the Silver Queen and Red Lady Express chairlifts and a 2-minute walk to Mountaineer Square — the main village plaza with restaurants, bars, ski rentals, ski school, coffee shops, and après-ski venues. During peak ski season, the Plaza at Woodcreek itself has an on-site restaurant and bar open to guests. The free Mountain Express shuttle stops at the building every 15 minutes from early morning to late evening during winter and runs to the historic town of Crested Butte, 3 miles south (10-minute ride). Historic downtown Crested Butte is often called "the last great Colorado ski town" — an unspoiled Victorian main street, Elk Avenue, lined with independent restaurants (Secret Stash pizza, Sunflower, Soupçon), bars, galleries, the Crested Butte Museum, and the Center for the Arts. In summer, the Upper East River Valley becomes one of Colorado's premier mountain-biking, hiking, and wildflower destinations — Crested Butte is the officially designated Wildflower Capital of Colorado, and the Wildflower Festival runs every July. Key attractions within a short drive include the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base village (walk), the Red Lady Express lift (3-minute walk), Mountaineer Square (2-minute walk), downtown Crested Butte and Elk Avenue (10-minute free shuttle or 10-minute drive), Snodgrass and Woods Walk trailheads (15-minute drive), Gothic and the East River Valley (15-minute drive), and Kebler Pass with its September aspens (25-minute drive, summer-and-fall only). Mt Crested Butte sits at 9,375 feet of elevation at the building's base and the lift summit tops out at over 12,000 feet — plan to hydrate well on day one.
