Great location — short walk (less than a block) to skiing and the restaurant in the building was delicious and super convenient with a family. The unit was clean overall. A few improvements would make it even better: several dining chairs felt close to breaking, and since the condo sleeps six, having six dining chairs instead of four would be helpful. The kitchen pantry was very minimally stocked (salt, pepper, coffee), so plan to bring essentials if cooking. The beds weren’t very comfortable, and the heat was difficult to manage without a thermostat — some guidance on temperature control would be appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, especially the location and convenience.

Great location, just a few steps to the main ski lift. There is a restaurant located in the building which is really convenient. The beds were really comfortable and the lines and towels were nice. The kitchen was well stocked and Erin was a very responsive and helpful host.

We had a great stay at Erin’s and it was so conveniently located to the slopes. The view out of the living room was fantastic.

Crested Butte, Colorado, United States
The Plaza 232 is located in Mt. Crested Butte at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, a 3-minute walk to the Silver Queen and Red Lady chairlifts. Crested Butte is a historic mining-turned-ski town in Gunnison County, Colorado, known for expert-terrain skiing, a preserved Victorian main street, and a designation as Colorado's official Wildflower Capital. The immediate neighborhood around The Plaza is the resort base village. Within a 5-minute walk: Mountaineer Square (restaurants, coffee shops, ski rentals, ticket offices), Camp 4 Coffee, Django's, Butcherknife Brewing, and the Uley's Cabin / Paradise Warming House sled-up lunch venues. Gear demo and rental: Alpineer and Crested Butte Sports. There is a restaurant/bar inside the Plaza building itself, open during peak season. Historic downtown Crested Butte is 3 miles down-valley at the base of the Elk Avenue corridor. Highlights: Secret Stash pizza, Sunflower (organic farm-to-table), Soupçon (French-American), The Last Steep, Kochevar's Saloon (established 1896), and the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum. The Mountain Express shuttle runs between the village and downtown free of charge every 15 minutes in winter. Summer activities: chairlift-accessed mountain biking on Evolution Bike Park, the 401 Trail (world-class singletrack), Kebler Pass aspens (the largest aspen grove in North America, peak color mid-September), Oh-Be-Joyful waterfalls hike, and Snodgrass Mountain trailhead (15-min drive). Winter: the resort has 1,547 skiable acres with expert terrain on the North Face and family-friendly runs from the Red Lady and Painter Boy lifts. Airports: Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is a 35-minute drive with seasonal direct flights from Denver, Houston, and Dallas. Denver International (DEN) is a 4.5-hour drive with shuttle options (Alpine Express, Dolly's).

HONEST DISCLOSURES — so there are no surprises:
3 PROS worth knowing:
- The walk to the lifts really is 3 minutes — we've timed it in ski boots.
- 2 covered parking spaces per reservation — a real winter benefit in Mt. CB.
- The Plaza's shared indoor amenities (two hot tubs, sauna, steam room, pool table) make rest days easy with kids.
2 CONS worth knowing:
- Both hot tubs are shared with other Plaza guests — peak après hours (4–6pm) can get busy. The indoor tub area is usually quieter.
- No A/C — summer highs are mid-70s so it's rarely an issue, but south-facing rooms can warm up midday. Open windows handle it.
OTHER:
- Elevation ~9,400 ft — hydrate aggressively day one, go easy on alcohol that first night.
- Wood-burning fireplace — seasonal firewood provided.
- Kitchen is stocked with the basics (salt, pepper, coffee) — bring your own pantry staples if cooking most meals.
- Quiet hours 10pm–8am (HOA).
- No smoking, no pets, no parties.
