Turquoise Lake is 12 minutes by car for hiking, fishing, and paddleboarding. Copper Mountain ski resort is 25 minutes away. The Mt. Elbert trailhead — the highest peak in the Rocky Mountains — is 26 minutes. Ski Cooper is 30 minutes. Vail Ski Resort is 47 minutes. The Mineral Belt Trail, a 12-mile paved loop around Leadville, is accessible on foot from the building. Leadville's Victorian Main Street features silver mining museums, ghost town tours, and the historic Tabor Opera House. A public park and playground are directly adjacent to the building.
