The Governor's Mansion, built in 1881 and expanded in 1893 by Colorado Governor Jesse McDonald, sleeps fourteen across six bedrooms and three lockable units — each with its own living space, so multi-family groups get privacy and togetherness under one roof. A king suite with jetted tub, four queen rooms, and a bunk room pair with 4.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen, a red-walled billiard room, an infrared sauna, and a 20+ board game library. Half a block from Main Street in downtown Leadville and pet friendly, it's a group base for Ski Cooper, Copper Mountain, and Turquoise Lake. Listed with @BookTraverse.

We had a great time! There is space for several small families with a wide age range, with plenty of bathrooms, bedrooms, and common space. Downtown is a block away and very walkable! We will be back!

This place was great! Lots of space for our family, more than we anticipated when booking. They were very flexible with check in times and responded quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

We will be going back again next year with our group of 14! Skiing at Cooper and being at this place in Leadville made us feel like we had uncovered a hidden gem. The home is older, but still well kept. The affordability was a huge plus to our trip. Thank you!

Leadville, Colorado, United States
You're one block off Harrison Avenue in Leadville's National Historic Landmark District — restaurants, coffee, museums, and shops are a half-block stroll, so a group of 14 never has to carpool to dinner. From this corner of town: - Ski Cooper (15 min), Copper Mountain (25 min), and Vail (47 min) for lift days - The Mineral Belt Trail for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and summer rides - Turquoise Lake (12 min) for paddling, fishing, and shoreline sunsets - Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads (about 26 min) — Colorado's two highest peaks - Leadville's mining district, ghost towns, and Mosquito Pass for history and 4x4 days
