The Giddy Betsy is a 3-bedroom cabin with a sleeping loft at Grand West Village Resort, a small managed community of cabins in Lake County, Colorado. The cabin sleeps 8 across three bedrooms — a king on the main floor, a queen on the main floor, and a loft with a queen plus a bunk bed — plus a sofa bed in the living room. The main floor holds two of the bedrooms, both bathrooms, the gas-fireplace living room, and the fully stocked kitchen. The upstairs loft holds the queen and bunk beds — kid-friendly and separated from the main-floor sleeping. A BBQ grill on the porch and the shared resort yard (picnic tables, swing set, horseshoe pit) handle the outdoor side of a family ski week. Location is the buy: ~8 minutes by car to downtown Leadville's Harrison Avenue restaurants and breweries, ~25 minutes to Twin Lakes (fishing, paddleboarding, sailing in summer; cross-country skiing in winter), and ~25 minutes to the Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads (Colorado's two tallest 14ers). Ski Cooper is approximately 30 minutes; Copper Mountain about 40. Managed end-to-end by Traverse Hospitality — Lake County licensed, Superhost-rated.

We had a great stay here for the weekend. The kitchen is well stocked and beds are comfortable. Everything is as described, with a good amount of space to hang out and eat as a group.

We had a great stay. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Natasha was responsive and made check-in easy. The location worked well for our trip. We’d be happy to stay here again.

The cabin was comfortable and close to town. I think the management should allow for a later check out time. 10:00 am is too early. You can't check in until 4:00 pm so a 10:00 am departure seems unreasonable. Yes, you can request a later check out but of course you are charged. I would rent the cabin again if I were attending the festival in Leadville.

Everything was great. Our only complaint is the king bed on the main level was very very uncomfortable which resulted in less sleep. Everything else was great.

Leadville, Colorado, United States
The Giddy Betsy is located in Grand West Village Resort on Lost Mine Loop in Lake County, Colorado. The location balances quiet resort grounds with quick access to all of Leadville's Lake County attractions: downtown Leadville (Harrison Avenue's restaurants, breweries, and the Tabor Opera House) is approximately 8 minutes by car. Twin Lakes (fishing, paddleboarding, sailing, cross-country skiing across the frozen lakes in winter) is approximately 25 minutes. The Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads (Colorado's two tallest 14ers, 14,440 ft and 14,428 ft) are also approximately 25 minutes. Ski Cooper, the locals' favorite mountain (no lift lines, family-friendly terrain), is about 30 minutes north. Copper Mountain is approximately 40 minutes east, and the Vail/Beaver Creek complex is about 50 minutes. In summer, Independence Pass to Aspen opens (about 1.5 hours by car). The Mineral Belt Trail (11.6-mile paved loop, ski/bike/run year-round) has its nearest trailhead in downtown Leadville, ~8 minutes from the cabin.
