Welcome to the one and only Governor's Mansion Loft. Escape to the Leadville lifestyle and breathe the freshest air there is and drink from the source of mountain waters. This rental was just what our family needed for a road trip stop close to a friend. The town was quiet and friendly. The home was very comfortable and cozy. Fair warning though, the stairs to the rental are a workout especially when you're not acclimated to 10,000 feet elevation.

Yes, we are pet friendly - There is an additional pet fee of $60 if you are bringing a pet (2 pets max).
Hot Tub: Please note that the hot tub is shared between the GM Main House and GM Attic when both units are occupied. The GM Main and The GM Attic are units in the Governors Mansion.
Note: under no circumstances can you leave your pet(s) unattended at the property - there are doggy day care/ dog boarding options or take your pet with you! Violations of this may be met with a $100 fine or we may ask you to check-out early.
For stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.
If it snows more than several inches, look for snow removal signs to make sure you don't violate any temporary parking rules
The Governor's Mansion was once the home of former Governor Jesse McDonald and is centrally located in Leadville's National Historic Landmark District. Part of this house was built in 1881, with the mansion portion completed in 1893. Former Governor, Jesse McDonald, who sought and found his fortune in Leadville, built this big house to entertain guests as they travelled through town.
Staying in the mountains offers a unique and nature-immersed experience, characterized by a rustic charm. You might occasionally encounter some of the local wildlife, insects, and small critters that are part of the natural surroundings. We recommend keeping doors securely closed whenever possible. Rest assured, we've implemented thorough measures to ensure your stay remains undisturbed by these natural inhabitants.
Altitude sickness is real. In Leadville/ Twin Lakes, the elevation can be up to 10,000 feet. Symptoms can include dizziness and nausea, so please be mindful of this. We cannot offer refunds for guests experiencing altitude sickness. If you anticipate being affected, we recommend obtaining insurance at the time of booking.
