Black Bear Lodge unit #303 at Mt. Crested Butte is a two-bedroom, two-bath condo with a 3-minute walk to the West Wall Lift via the public access tunnel at neighboring Westwall Lodge — no resort shuttle required. Floor-to-ceiling great-room windows and a private balcony frame the Mt. Crested Butte ridgeline, and a gas fireplace anchors the living area. Both bedrooms have queen beds (sleeps 4); the condo includes an in-unit washer/dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Your car parks in the heated underground garage (one assigned space) — dry and warm overnight. A dedicated lobby locker stores skis, snowboards, and bikes (building rules keep wheels and gear out of the elevator and condo). Shared building amenities include a year-round outdoor hot tub and a grill deck. Walk 3 minutes to the West Wall Lift, 5 minutes to the Mt. Crested Butte base area, or drive 8 minutes to historic downtown Crested Butte (Elk Avenue shops, restaurants, and breweries). Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is 28 miles south, about 40 minutes. Managed by Traverse (@BookTraverse) with a local guest-experience team.

Crested Butte, Colorado, United States
Black Bear Lodge is in the Mt. Crested Butte base village, directly across from Westwall Lodge, which hosts the covered/outdoor tunnel route to the West Wall Lift. Guests typically walk from the condo to the lift loading zone in about 3 minutes on foot — no resort shuttle needed. The Mt. Crested Butte base area (shops, dining, ski rental, après-ski) is a 5-minute walk. Historic Downtown Crested Butte: 3 miles north via Gothic Road (Hwy 135), about 8 minutes. Elk Avenue's preserved Victorian district has independent restaurants from casual to farm-to-table, craft breweries (Montanya Distillers, Irwin Brewing), art galleries, a bookstore, gear outfitters, weekend live music, and summer farmers' markets. The free Mountain Express shuttle connects the base village to downtown daily, with a late-evening dinner schedule. Seasonal highlights: - Winter (Nov–Apr): Mt. Crested Butte Ski Resort — 1,547 acres, steep-terrain focus, 3,062 ft vertical, lower crowds than Colorado's I-70 resorts. The West Wall Lift (your closest chair) opens upper-mountain advanced terrain; Red Lady Express serves beginners/intermediates from the base. Nordic skiing at the Crested Butte Nordic Center; downtown ice rink. - Summer (Jun–Sep): Wildflower Festival in July; trails from the base (401, Snodgrass, Oh-Be-Joyful); Evolution Bike Park; fly-fishing on the East and Taylor Rivers; Kebler Pass scenic drive. - Fall (late Sep–early Oct): peak aspen color along Kebler Pass. - Spring (May): quiet "mud season," off-peak rates. Airports: Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional (GUC) — 28 miles south, ~40 minutes, with winter direct service from Denver, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Chicago, and Atlanta. Denver International (DEN) — 230 miles east, ~4.5-hour drive (Monarch Pass requires winter driving skills Nov–Apr). Elevation: 9,375 ft at the property. Altitude symptoms typically peak 12–24 hours after arrival; hydration, easy first-day activity, and limiting alcohol on night one help. Strong UV — sunscreen recommended even on cloudy days.
Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in. Within 14 days, the reservation is non-refundable.
