My husband, daughter and I loved our stay in Twin Lakes. The house was spotless, comfortable and within 45 minutes of the collegiate peaks, Independence Pass Ridge trail, Ptarmigan Lake and more. We loved having this as a base camp for all of our hikes and will definitely stay here again.

The home is attractive, and Chris acknowledged our feedback. Unfortunately a continuous fan-like noise, perhaps a dehumidifier, from beneath the house was especially noticeable overnight in the primary bedroom, making it difficult to sleep. An extension cord from the entry into the crawlspace suggests it may have been temporary. The primary bedroom shade was partially detached, leaving about a one-foot-wide section of the window uncovered top to bottom. Several motorized shades were unplugged or not functioning, and the primary bedroom door wouldn't fully close. With a neighboring home visible from the bed, the room offered less privacy than we expected. Our trip also coincided with a wildfire near Leadville. While the smoke was outside the host's control, we couldn't sleep with the windows open so the bedroom stayed quite warm overnight. We ended up leaving a day early. If a quiet sleeping environment or bedroom privacy are important, I'd recommend confirming the current status.

Altitude sickness is real. In Leadville/ Twin Lakes, the elevation can be up to 10,000 feet. Symptoms can include dizziness and nausea, so please be mindful of this. We cannot offer refunds for guests experiencing altitude sickness. If you anticipate being affected, we recommend obtaining insurance at the time of booking.
